Patrick Lantschner is the first confirmed Keynote Speaker for the international colloquium "And the People, where are they? The collective subject in times of revolution"!
Patrick Lantschner is Associate Professor in the Department of History at University College London, with several works focused mainly on the area of urban history of Europe and the Islamic world in the Middle Ages.
He is currently completing a book on the role of cities in the political order of late medieval Western Eurasia. He is the author of The Logic of Political Conflict in the Middle Ages: Italy and the Southern Low Countries (published by Oxford University Press, in 2015) and co-editor, with Maarten Prak, of the medieval and early-modern volume of The Cambridge Urban History of Europe (published by Cambridge University Press, in 2025).
His lecture will be dedicated to the theme of revolts and urban societies in medieval Western Eurasia.
