Keynote Speaker confirmed!

José Neves is the last confirmed Keynote Speaker for the international colloquium "And the People, where are they? The collective subject in times of revolution"!

He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of History at NOVA FCSH since 2011. He holds a degree and a PhD in Modern and Contemporary History from ISCTE-IUL, completed his postdoctoral research at ICS-ULisboa, and was a Camões Visiting Professor at King’s College London in 2011. Between 2011 and 2016, he led the Culture, Identities, and Power research line at IHC and is currently the President of the IHC Board and editor of the journal Práticas da História – Journal on Theory, Historiography and Uses of the Past.

His research areas include Contemporary Portuguese History, studies on nationalisms, theory of history, historiography, uses of the past, cultural history, and cultural studies.
